Do you take emergency patients?

Yes, we understand how troubling a broken tooth or a tooth ache can be, it can completely stop your daily life and simple things such as eating can become nearly impossible. If you are in need of an emergency dentist our staff will do their best to get you the earliest possible appointment and fit you in for a same day appointment where possible. Even if you have never been to this practice before please call and our dedicated team will do their best to get your problem sorted out quickly and without pain.

What do you offer for patients who are afraid of the dentist?

We understand that the dentist can be a daunting place for many people and patients can often avoid treatment only compiling their problems. We at United Dental Clinic pride ourselves on taking the time to listen to our patients and helping to ease them in to treatment by talking them through exactly what is happening and stopping whenever the patient is uncomfortable and feels they need a break. We also offer “sleep dentistry” for those patients who are really dental phobic, or who simply don’t like the smalls and noises associated with dental work. We offer both oral sedation and IV sedation which you can read about on this site and if you have any further questions please contact our helpful staff.

Do you do wisdom teeth removal?

Yes, here at United Dental Clinic we are able to perform both surgical and non surgical removals of wisdom teeth. After an initial consultation with the dentist, they will refer you out for an OPG X-Ray (a full mouth X-Ray that allows us to get a full view of the placement of your wisdom teeth) and they will be able to establish which option if right for you.

What are some wisdom teeth symptoms that can cause problems?

There can be a variety of symptoms that can be a result of your wisdom teeth coming through, one of the most common being when your wisdom teeth impacted, meaning there is not enough room and the wisdom teeth may be coming in on an angle. This can make cleaning this area difficult causing the buildup of food and bacteria which can lead to decay of both the wisdom tooth and the neighbouring molar tooth.  Wisdom teeth pain can also be caused by ulcers that develop around the site which can be excruciating and in rare cases can lead to the development of a tumour.

Is there on-site parking at your clinic?

Yes, we are located in Warriewood Square shopping centre so there is ample parking and a chance to get your shopping done at the same time!

Do you take patients from across all of the Northern Beaches?

Yes, we have patients from such places as Palm Beach, Avalon, Mona Vale, Warriewood, Narrabeen, Collaroy, Dee Why, Brookvale, Narraweena, Manly, Manly Vale and even patients from places on the North Shore such as Hornsby.

What is a dental crown?

Dental crowns are a restorative method of dentistry that completely covers or caps the tooth or implant. Crowns are often necessary when a cavity is very large and threatening the health of the tooth, also it is important to get a dental crown after a root canal to protect the integrity of the tooth. Crowns help improve the strength of the teeth, especially teeth that have been made weaker through decay or root canal, crowns also help to improve the appearance of the tooth.

How to brush your teeth with braces

It is important to make sure that you keep your teeth especially clean when you have braces as it is easy for food to get trapped and for bacteria to build up. We have some simple tips to make brushing with braces easier, and therefore you will have a dazzling smile with your braces and when you get your braces removed. Make sure you clean above and below the wire and also use your tooth brush on an angle to clean in-between each bracket; brush each tooth individually to make sure that they are getting the same treatment (this includes brushing behind your teeth). Make sure to thoroughly rinse your mouth, this can be done with either mouth rinse or simply water. Also it is important after each meal to make sure that you don’t have any food caught in your braces and to clean them if you do.
