Straighten your teeth discreetly with Invisalign

United Dental Clinic is proud to offer Invisalign, a nearly invisible orthodontic solution for mild misalignment cases.

For many people, orthodontics are just another part of their typical line of dental care. While orthodontics might be the standard for many teens and adults, the bulky metal appliance doesn’t have to be. Many are finding success with the almost invisible Invisalign treatment, as it can have the same effects as braces while fitting in to an individual’s lifestyle and aesthetic.

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a leap forward in orthodontic and teeth alignment technology. The ‘invisible’ way to straighten your teeth, Invisalign uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gradually shift your teeth into their optimal position while remaining almost undetectable. Since Invisalign aligners are removable, you are able to eat, drink and clean your teeth as normal – just pop your aligners back in once you’re done!

Is Invisalign effective?

Invisalign has proven to be a very effective technique to correct mild misalignment. For more severe cases, most dental professionals will recommend braces. However, Invisalign is a very popular choice for teenagers and adults who seek a discreet orthodontic treatment that can make subtle changes to their dental alignment over time.

How long does Invisalign take?

Contrary to popular belief, Invisalign’s treatment times are not much different to those of traditional braces. Keep in mind, each treatment is unique and treatment times will vary from patient to patient. Your skilled dentist at United Dental Clinic should be able to provide you with an estimate of your treatment time at your initial consultation.

In more detail

Invisalign process

During your initial consultation, your dentist at United Dental Clinic will take the time to understand the nature of your orthodontic concerns, and assess if you would benefit from Invisalign treatment.

Then, after taking detailed three-dimensional impressions of your mouth, the results are sent to Invisalign HQ and your orthodontic treatment will arrive at your dentist within 2 weeks. These are changed on a fortnightly basis to move your teeth gradually. During regular appointments with your Invisalign dentist every 6 to 8 weeks, you will be provided new aligners until your treatment plan is complete and you have a lovely, straight smile.

Attending your regular appointments is critical. They allow your dentist the opportunity to effectively monitor the progress of your treatment, ensuring your teeth are correctly moving towards their desired location.

Benefits of Invisalign

  • Improved oral health: It is a fact that straight teeth are easier to clean.
  • Improved aesthetic: For most, the visible impact Invisalign has on their smile is the key reason for undergoing the orthodontic treatment. Aligned teeth can refresh and rejuvenate your appearance beyond your expectations.
  • Orthodontic freedom: Since Invisalign is removable, you have the authority to have ortho-free teeth whenever you see fit. For special occasions or dinner parties, we know having to remove your aligners is not very polite! Just make sure you don’t leave them out too often, or your treatment time will be extended; it is recommended you wear your aligners 20 to 22 hours a day.
  • Predictable outcome: With Invisalign, you can see your teeth moving into their ideal alignment. Even before your treatment, your dentist may be able to give you a preview of the desired end result, so you know what outcome to expect from your orthodontic treatment.

FAQs

You should wear your aligners for 20 to 22 hours a day during your treatment to achieve the best results in the most timely manner.

At each visit, you’ll be given enough aligners to last you until your next visit. This means, you will be given 3-4 sets at a time, to last you 6-8 weeks. While you may be able to discuss an alternative arrangement with your dentist if needed, it’s best to stick to this schedule so your dentist can monitor your progress.

Within a few months of starting treatment, you should notice an obvious difference.
